How to choose gantry crane?

There are many different types of gantry crane, only choosing the right gantry crane, the work efficiency is higher, the cost is lower. So what kind of gantry crane can we choose? I will give you some suggestions to choose your own gantry crane.

Single girder gantry crane or double girder gantry crane?

Firstly, all the gantry crane must meet the relative requirements, in China, these standards include GB/T14406—1993 and GB5905-86.

Generally speaking, if the lifting weight is less than 50t, span is less than 35m, and there is no special requirements, you should to use single girder gantry crane. On the contrary, if the width of gantry leg is required large, working speed is high, or it need to lift heavy load and large-sized object, then the double girder gantry crane is an ideal choice.

Requirements of  wheel distance

• Meet the requirement of the stability of the gantry crane along the direction of the track.
• Pay attention to the proportional relationship between track B and S span, general track B= (1/4 - 1/6) S.
• Dimension of cargos can be smoothly through the legs of flat steel.

Distance

During the operation of gantry crane, a certain space dimension should be left between the external size of the gantry crane and the cargo and the transport vehicles, in order to facilitate loading and unloading operations. In general, during the loading and unloading of the transport truck, it should keep a distance more than 0.7m between the truck and the gantry leg. hen not working, the slings should keep a distance more than 0.5m with the transport truck. When the cargo pass the gantry leg, it should keep a distance more than 0.5m.

Span and cantilever length

The span of the gantry crane is an important factor affecting the quality of the gantry crane. When the span is selected, the span should be shortened as long as the equipment is used and the span series standards are met.

The span of double beam gantry crane is an important factor affecting the quality of the crane. In loading and unloading, the transport vehicle should maintain a certain distance at least 0.7m with the gantry crane leg. When not working, the slings should keep a distance more than 0.5m with the transport truck.

Electric equipment for gantry crane

Electric equipment is also important to the whole performance of gantry crane, it must conform to the relevant standard of the general purpose gantry crane, in China, it is the GB/T14406 - 1993.
